Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Despo (“the app”), operated by Chaudhari Apps, treats information when you use the iOS or Android app or this website.

You do not need a Despo account to use the app. Habits, checkmarks, streaks, appearance, and reminder settings are stored on your device. If you connect Google Drive (Android) or iCloud (iPhone), backup or sync data is stored in your Google or Apple account. We never see it and we do not run a Despo cloud for habits.

Depending on how you use the app, your device may store:

• Habits, folders, schedules, checkmarks, notes, streaks, and analytics derived from them
• For Apple Health–linked habits: derived daily totals and checkmarks cached from HealthKit (not raw samples)
• Appearance, notification, and alarm preferences
• CSV files you export or import
• An optional Privacy Vault PIN or lock setting, stored locally
• Whether optional integrations (Drive, iCloud, Health) are turned on

Uninstalling the app removes this local data unless you have a backup in Google Drive, iCloud, or a CSV you exported.

Google Drive (Android). If you sign in, the app on your phone uses Google’s drive.file scope to create a Despo folder in your Drive, with year subfolders and CSV backup files. Those files stay in your Google account. We never see them and we do not run a server that stores habit backups. iCloud (iPhone). If you turn on iCloud Sync, habits and checkmarks can stay in step across devices signed into the same Apple ID. Appearance and reminders stay on each device. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is described in iCloud & Privacy.

On iOS you can link Steps, Sleep, Active Energy, Stand Hours, and Distance. Despo reads daily totals from HealthKit on-device (not a full sample dump), compares them to your goals, and caches derived checkmarks and day values in the same local habit database as manual entries — typically up to about a year of lookback — so heatmaps, widgets, and analytics can work offline. Optional Despo Pro purchases go through Apple or Google and are processed by RevenueCat to restore entitlements. RevenueCat may receive a purchase token, product identifiers, and an anonymous app user id, not your habit names or checkmarks.

The app may send anonymous usage events (for example screen names and counts such as “habit created”) through Firebase Analytics. These events do not include habit names, notes, or checkmark history.

Analytics and related services use anonymous installation ids — not your name or email. Despo does not use your device’s advertising identifier and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics) can be turned off in Settings under Debug. Crash logs may include device type, OS version, and stack traces. They are not used to reconstruct your habit list.

The in-app feature request form is optional. If you use it, the text you write is sent to a Firebase Firestore database that we operate — this is the one place where something you typed reaches a Despo server.

Sent with it: the category you picked, the app version, whether you have an active Despo Pro entitlement, the plan and product id, and the anonymous RevenueCat app user id. We attach the RevenueCat id so we can reply about a request and weigh it against how the app is actually being used. It is not your name, your email, or an account with us.

Your habit names, notes, and checkmark history are never part of a feature request. To have a submission deleted, email support@chaudhariapps.com and quote roughly what you wrote and when.

Privacy Vault is an optional on-device lock. The PIN or biometric preference stays on your phone. We cannot recover a forgotten vault PIN.

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We do not store habit data or a Despo account profile. Habits live on your device or in your Google/Apple account, so you can export, restore, or delete them yourself without us. See Account deletion.

The exceptions are things you deliberately sent us: a feature request submitted through the app, and any email you have written to us. Those we can look up and delete on request — for a feature request, quote roughly what you wrote and when, since there is no account to search by. Write to support@chaudhariapps.com.

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
