Account deletion

Signing up is not required. We do not host a user database of emails, passwords, or habit histories. Optional backup uses your Google Account (Android) or Apple ID (iCloud). Deleting “the account” means removing app data from the phone and any copies in Drive or iCloud.

Do this first if you want a clean slate on the phone you are holding:

1. Open Despo → Settings → Data. Export a CSV if you want a personal copy.
2. If Privacy Vault is on, unlock it so you can reach Settings.
3. Turn off Google Drive backup or iCloud Sync in Settings if they are connected.
4. Delete the app. Uninstalling removes local habits, checkmarks, appearance, and reminders on that device.

Other devices keep their own local copy until you uninstall there too, or restore from a backup you still have.

Android backups are CSV files in Google Drive → Despo → [year]. Disconnecting in the app signs out; it does not always empty the folder. To remove the files:

1. In Despo: Settings → Google Drive → Delete Google Drive Data (signs out on this device).
2. Open drive.google.com, find the Despo folder, and move it to trash.
3. Empty Drive trash so the files are permanently removed. Google’s steps: Delete files from Google Drive.

On iPhone, iCloud Sync keeps habits in step with this Apple ID. To stop sync and remove the iCloud copy:

1. In Despo: Settings → iCloud → Turn Off iCloud Sync, then Delete iCloud Data. Local habits on this device stay until you uninstall.
2. Check iCloud storage on the device (Settings → [your name] → iCloud) or at iCloud.com. Apple’s guide: Manage iCloud storage.
3. If files remain in iCloud Drive, Apple explains how to delete them: Delete files from iCloud Drive.

• Google. Apps with access to your Google Account. Remove Despo so it can no longer create Drive files.
• Apple. account.apple.com and device Settings → Apple Account → iCloud: turn off Despo if it still appears.

If you cannot reach Drive or iCloud yourself, or you want us to confirm we do not hold extra copies (we do not store habit backups anywhere), email us. Include the Google email or Apple ID you used for backup, the platform (Android or iOS), and that you want Despo data deleted.

We will reply within 7 days. Because backups sit in your Google or Apple account, we can only walk you through deletion there. We cannot open or erase those files ourselves.
